Robert "Bob" StaleyOf Arlington HeightsRobert Staley was born on November 28, 1929 in Schenectady, NY to Ivan and Lillian (nee Ackernecht) Staley. He died Sunday, August 9, 2015 at Northwest Community Hospital Midwest Palliative CareCenter in Arlington Heights.Robert served in the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant. He started working for District 214 as an English Teacher at Prospect High School, then to Forest View High School and retired from Hersey High School. Bob was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ Church in Arlington Heights and helped with the "PADS" program. He loved to deliver "Meals on Wheels", (Known as the "Muffin Man") volunteered at the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, and also at Northwest Community Hospital, and was known as an "Unselfish and Giving Person". Bob loved to spend time with his family, especially traveling with his wife Marion, and was loved by all.Robert is survived by his spouse of 61 years, Marion (nee Kruis) whom he married on October 10, 1953 in Cedar Grove, WI; sons, Robert Craig Staley and Jonathan (Jackie) Staley; grandchildren, Shannon, Sarah and Ethan Staley.He was preceded in death by his son Thomas Staley; his parents; and his brother Ernest A. Staley.Visitation Wednesday, August 12, 2015 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., 1520 North Arlington Heights Road (4 blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, IL 60004. In State 10:30 am, Thursday, August 13, 2015 until the time of the 11:00 am Funeral Service at Congregational United Church of Christ, 1001 W. Kirchoff Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005.
