Robert D. Barr

Of Arlington Heights

Robert D. Barr was born December 17, 1941 in Springfield, MA to Robert D., Sr., and Esther (nee Roberts) Barr.  He died October 18, 2017 at his home in Arlington Heights.   

Bob was a competitive fisherman.  He was a member of the Tri-County Fishing Club and the Wisconsin Bass Casters.  He was an avid sports fan, especially his Boston teams-the Patriots, the Bruins and the Red Sox.   

Robert is survived by his wife Linda (nee Schmoeger) Barr; his children Brian (Diane) Barr and Amy (James) Braun; his grandchildren Delaney Elise, Thomas James and Elisabeth Anne; his sister Barbara (late Rich) Rooney and by his nephews Scott (Elizabeth) Rooney and Kyle Rooney.  

Bob is preceded in death by his siblings Fred Barr and Susan Barr and by his parents.  

Memorial visitation Saturday, October 21, 2017 from 1:00 PM until the time of memorial service at 4:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights. 

Interment private.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to American Institute for Cancer Research, Dept. IHW1, 1759 R Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20009 or Susan G.
