Ralph Walker Grenz

Ralph Grenz of Chicago, Galena, and most recently Buffalo Grove was born on March 17, 1939, in Chicago to Paul Winters and Margaret (Runnfeldt) Winters Grenz; and Lee Grenz whom later became his father through adoption.

Mr. Grenz was a proud member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 73 for 43 years. Ralph and Roberta retired to Galena and quickly became involved with the community participating in many historical organizations and events. He loved to keep busy tinkering in his workshop, civil war events, traveling and spending time with his wife, family and many friends. Ralph had a great sense of humor and was loved by all.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 64 years Roberta (nee) Blecker; son, Michael (Jackie) Grenz; grandchildren Robert and Abigail Grenz and Nicole (Joe) Hornsby; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Olivia and Grant Hornsby; siblings, Paul (Sue)Grenz, Dorothy (Wally) Janusch, Roger (Karen) Stewart and Terry (Sally) Grenz

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents; and son Mark Grenz.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, June 8th, 2024, from 10:00 until the time of the 11:00 am Memorial Service at service at Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights, 302 North Dutton Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. Interment is private.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of your choice in memory of Ralph.
