Joseph M. Wojnowski, a cherished soul known for his warm heart and infectious humor, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2024, in Arlington Heights, IL. Born on August 11, 1954, in Chicago, IL, he was the adored son of the late Theresa (nee Looney) and the late Aloysius Wojnowski.
Joseph's life was a testament to love and dedication, as he was the beloved husband of 50 years to Charlotte (nee Allison) Wojnowski. Their unwavering bond was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew them. He was a dear father, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter in his children, Elyse (Anthony Wanless) Wojnowski, and the late Colleen Wojnowski. His role as a proud grandfather to Maximus and Delaney “Bug” Anders was one he cherished with every fiber of his being. Joseph was also a cherished brother, survived by Steve (Rita) Wojnowski and Dan (Jan) Wojnowski. His familial ties extended beyond immediate kin, touching the lives of his 6 godchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, especially his namesake nephew Joey, who held a special place in his heart.
Known for his ability to connect with people, Joseph made friends everywhere he went and attended all the family Christmas parties, always contributing to the joy and merriment of the occasions. His laughter was a fixture at these gatherings, as was his knack for storytelling that kept everyone entertained. His love for his family was the cornerstone of his existence; they were his pride, his joy, and his everything.
Joseph's love for travel took him to many places, but Paris held a special spot in his heart. The family will be receiving guests on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home, 1520 N Arlington Heights Rd, Arlington Heights, IL 60004. The service will start at 7:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Joseph’s honor be made to The Ronald McDonald House near Loyola University Medical Center or Rainbow Animal Assisted Therapy.
