Marilyn Edith Purser

Marilyn Edith Purser went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 16, 2022 at the age of 86. She was preceded in death by parents, Arnold and Edith Tweed, daughter, Mary Teresa Purser, sister Barbara Doering and brothers Lowell and Roger Tweed. She is survived by husband George Norman Purser of 62 years, children Mark (Sherri) Purser, Kent (Holly Lynn) Purser, grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) Purser, Brian (Alexandra) Purser and great-grandchildren Weston, Cayden, Hana and Lily Purser and sister Elaine Marshall.

Marilyn was always committed to her family, wanting to support them in all areas. They were surrounded by her daily prayers. 3rd John 4 says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”

Marilyn was raised in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota living close to grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins. She was always active in her church and school.

After graduation from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN, she moved to Northridge, CA to begin a career working in Lutheran Elementary Schools. During her 43 years of teaching, she taught various grades from preschool to Grade 6. She also taught the weekly music classes and directed Christmas programs and spring musicals.

Serving God as the assistant church organist and directing the church children’s choir where she was a member was a joy to her.
