She was wife to Rev. Adrian Van Wyk, home maker, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. As a pastor's wife she was always in church on Sunday and made sure her seven children were with her. Born to Elmer and Christina Heinen in Gibbsville WI on Jan. 11, 1933. She married Adrian Van Wyk on July 30, 1952, in Sheboygan, WI. She and Adrian moved to Pella, IA for his college, then on to Holland, MI for Seminary. The Holy Spirit and the Reformed Church of America denomination moved them to a number of churches in Chancellor, SD, Scotland SD, Mitchell SD, and Artesia CA. The family then moved to Norwalk CA where Marian earned her Cosmetology License. The family moved to Lucerne Valley, CA when Adrian began a second career as a truck driver and pulpit filler. Eventually Adrain and Marian moved to Apple Valley. CA, as empty nesters, where they entertained sons and daughters who brought grandchildren and eventually great grandchildren. Marian started two ministries "Lucerne Valley Good Neighbors" helping the needy and the group "Christians Encountering Challenges" which helped persons with various disabilities.
Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Charlotte Heinen and her beloved husband Adrian.
She is survived by brother Bob and his wife Mary Heinen, sister Violet Heinen, and her seven children: Tom Van Wyk, Christi and Robert Fant, Beckie and Fred Harvey, Ben and Tami Van Wyk, Greg Van Wyk, Jewell and Bill Nelson, Pattie and Kirk Lofland.
Nine Grandchildren: Cochise and Adam Fant, Bryndal Achtung, Shad Van Wyk, Dustin Van Wyk, Abigail Stille, Carmen, John, and Isaac Nelson, Kaitlyn, Patrick, and Matthew Lofland, and nine Great Grandchildren
