He was predeceased by his parents William Harold Newton and Catherine Newton.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Debbie Newton; children Lindsay Newton Schaefer and husband, Jamie Newton, and David Newton; grandchildren Alia, David, and Caleb Schaefer; sister Pamela Newton Gobel; niece Katie Gobel Jeffords and husband; nephew Bradley Gobel; sister Debra Newton Perrow and husband; niece Kimberly Perrow; and nephew Gregory Perrow.
Bill attended the University of Buffalo. He worked for many years as an electrical engineer in the hardware development industry. He was an avid pianist, and he loved playing for the glory of the Lord. He also enjoyed playing tennis.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 6th, from 6pm-8pm at Apex Funeral Home. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Thursday, June 7th, at True North Church, 531 Plaza Cir., Garner, NC, 27529, beginning at 3pm, with a visitation prior to the service at 2pm.
