Roy Gilbert

Roy was born on August 6, 1922 in Onaway, Michigan. Roy loved hunting and fishing and spending time with his family. He enjoyed puzzles and playing cards and liked to have a project to be working on. He had a twinkle in his eye that kept us on our toes.

Roy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years, Betty, daughter Roberta, parents Harry and Etta Gilbert and 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

He is survived by his daughters, Sandy Compeau (Tom) and Debby White, sister Viola, along with grandchildren, Jason Klemm (Michelle), Jeremy Klemm, Nathan Moore, Chad Compeau (Jessica) and April Compeau, a granddaughter of the heart Lisa Bravender (John), great-grandchildren, Serenity, Michael, Kylie, Jacob, Jack, Tyler and Dominic and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Apex Funeral Home. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:00 am in the chapel. The family would like to invite everyone to gather at Harris Lake – Cypress Pavilion to celebrate his life following.
