Robin had a great sense of humor and could hold her own in the Chrysler Jeep Auto Parts Service Center and the Fleet Service of the City of Durham Park and Recreation Department. Mike and Robin were known to take the 70' Chevelle to Emerald Isle and camp at the beach, ride their bikes and even head to the mountains and Cherokee. They enjoyed being with friends at Bones Bar and bowling, she commonly scored a 220 on the 1st round! She made any gathering a good time for everyone and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her husband - she called him her "Pumpkin" and he called her his "Daisy": Mike Riddle; her children: Shavon McGuire (Donnie) and John Hyatt; grandchildren: JC Haigler, Sophia McGuire and John Hyatt, Jr.; sisters: Brenda S. Heywood (Marvin Heywood), Audra R. Gwinn (Montell); brother: Williams C. Jones; close nieces (Natasha & Nerissa Newton) and a host of many nieces and nephews, including: Steven Jones (Dixie), Crystal Jones, Erica Callicutt (Bradley) and Joshua Jones; aunts: Suzanne A. Rape (Corey), Carole Seright (Ed), and Patrica A. Williams (Joe); cousins: ArlynMarie and Monica Rape, John Carter (Melissa), Mary “Fluff” Carter, Luke Carter, Matthew Carter, Paul Williams, Allen Williams (Patty), Sharon Lucas and Michael Seright.
Robin was preceded in death by her mother: Ruth Anita Smith; grandparents: Ruth A. Dubs, Richard R. Smith; granddaughter: Jasmine Haigler; brother: Michael S. Long; sisters: Debra Bentley and Patrica G. Newton; niece: Casondra "Nush" Horn; cousin: Joseph “Joe” Carter and aunt: Sandra L. Carter.
A service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Apex Funeral Home. Family will receive friends following the service.
