Patti never knew a stranger and welcomed everyone with open arms. Her honest, open, and hard-working spirit touched all of whom she knew. Patti was born in Alton, Illinois on June 1, 1961 to Vern and Shirley Dewey. After graduating college, she devoted her time to raising her children, restoring her old Victorian home, and was faithfully involved in her local church. Patti met and married the love of her life, Phillip Trent, and moved to Cary, North Carolina in 2007. They went on countless adventures together across the world, their favorite destination being Israel. She loved spending time at their condo in Ocean Isle, walking the beach and hunting for sand dollars. She was fervent in her faith and showed her devotion to the Lord by singing in the church choir. Patti lived to serve, whether it was through her devotion to Christ, her dedication to her husband, or her unconditional love for her children, she could always be counted on. Most of all, Patti cherished being ‘Grammie’ to her three grandchildren: Colton, Garron, and Eliza.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Phillip Trent; her five children Matthew Trent, Jennifer Price, Erica Zielinski, Brittany Lukas, and Emily Hansen, and all those she held dear.
The family will receive friends and guests on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Apex Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held the following day, July 15, 2021 at 10:00 AM at The Shepherd’s Church, Cary, North Carolina with burial at Wake Memorial Park cemetery.
