Mary Ellen and her twin, Ruth Anne, were born on July 25, 1933 in Brooklyn, New York to Harriet and Jack Laurentz. Mary Ellen was raised and lived in Yonkers, New York for a great many years, she spent a short while living in St. Louis, Missouri, then moved to Summit and later Monroe Township, New Jersey and most recently she had moved to Pittsboro, North Carolina.
Mary Ellen is preceded in death by her loving husband Richard and her parents. Mary Ellen is survived by her devoted and adored son and daughter, William James and Ruth O'Mealia as well as four beloved grandchildren – Andrea Breitman, Laura Janela and Evtin and Ethan O’Mealia.
Mary Ellen spent her professional career as an Executive Assistant at several companies that included Prudential and Bristol Myers Squibb. Mary Ellen was devoted to loving and caring for her family and friends. She had a passion for cooking, entertaining and playing bridge, tennis and golf. Mary Ellen was an avid and talented artist. She worked in water color, acrylic and oils, and will be remembered for and live on in her many beautiful works of art.
Above all else, her family meant the world to her. She is and will be deeply missed, cherished and loved! Rest in peace dear Mom.
Mary Ellen and Richard will be laid to rest at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ this spring.
