I think that I came across this page because the Lord wanted me to share my memories of Ms. Hessy, a very lovely and wonderful soul! First, my heartfelt condolences to her loving children, the Campbell's and the Forde family's; I'm truly sorry for your loss. Although it has been many years since the passing of Ms. Hessy, I'll like to share the memories that I've since I was about 5 years old. Those memories are etched in my heart forever because nowadays it's very difficult to find the genuine love of pure hearts as such! Soon after my 21st birthday I relocated but I continued to visit Ms. Annie, Ms. Hessy, teacher Forde and Mr. Victor which was a few houses over; God bless their souls as they now rest in peace 🙏🙏🙏🙏; I've always referred to Mr. Forde as teacher Forde as he was a teacher at the Mayaro Gov't school which I attended. Our families go back a very long way! Our parents's were very close friends and I often visited Ms. Annie with my mom. I remembered the first time I saw Ms. Annie she said "Darling, I know you since you were 3 days old you know! I visited your mom when you were born" and she then gave me a tight hug! Ms. Annie was a very sweet and gentle person; what a lovely lady!
I think that Ms. Hessy resembled her mom and was just as gentle and sweet as her! Ms. Hessy was always a very simple lady with a shy smile, she made you feel very welcomed and appreciated. All Hindu celebration my mom used to packed 2 bags with food and snacks, one for Mr. Victor and the other one for Ms. Annie and Hessy.  Teacher Forde attended all of our weddings and signed as witness to the marriages, gave speeches and attended my parent's funerals.
After Ms. Annie and my mom passed on, and we had any celebrations I continued to take the 2 bags with food and snacks to Ms. Hessy and Mr. Victor; these lovely people were not just our teacher and friends but  like relatives! These are the precious memories that I've in my heart. God bless their souls 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

There are not enough words to express how much you mean to me. You are my foundation, my rock, without you I would not be the man I am today. You were my strength when I had none, YOU SAVED ME! I love you and will miss you so much. It's hard to accept not hearing your voice say "Kevy" anymore or not seeing you smile... You were truly the BEST person I've known; Genuine, Sweet, Honest. 
I pray for strength and as you would always say "Kevy, accept things for what they are." It's going to be hard but I know you would want me to stay strong and keep pressing on. 
I always said I wouldn't know how to deal with you being gone but somehow what you thought me as a child has gave me strength! So I will hold on to our memories until we meet again, My Grandma, my Friend... LOVE YOU!!!

I thank you for being the anchor to who I am, my compass to tell me where to go and my rudder to get me there. I'm a ship adrift without you, and I feel lost, honestly,  but I know you would tell me everything will be alright, so I will hold on to you until I right myself again.
I thank you for all of the lessons you have taught me. I thank you for your example of faith and endurance, your example of how to be a good person in the world, and I promise to carry all of it with me forever.  I love you.

My condolences to the Forde family, I knew Hessy Forde because of my friendship with her daughters Kathy and Carol, she was a very quiet woman but got her point across, she was always kind. My prayers to all of her children and family.

We have the privilege and honor to take a few moments to speak about my mother's life, which we are all here to commemorate. As we stand here, we realize how fortunate we were to have a mother like her. Our mother would be very pleased and honored to see that you all could share in this with us.
My mother was born in Mayaro, Trinidad and Tobago, the seventh of eight children born to Duncan and Annie Campbell. She endured the loss of her own father at the tender age of 10 and that made life a little more difficult than it would if he had had a longer life. At 24, she married my father and she became a homemaker and a dutiful wife because she was married to him for 54 years before he passed away in May of 2012.
 She had six children, and she was the best mother she could possibly be along with trying to be a good step mom to my father's other three children and she dearly loved adoptive son. My mother was a quiet, strong, extraordinary woman who was devoted to her faith, her husband, her children, other members of her extended family, spiritual brothers and sisters, and many, many friends. We could go into detail with examples of  how selfless and brave she was and how much she had to endure and overcome different forms of hardships and obstacles but we  wouldn't. What we would do is tell you that she was a very smart woman who taught us many things. She worked hard to raise her family and tried her best to instill her value of faith in us while setting the example of perseverance, strength, resilience, and humility. We cannot imagine the strength it took to be a mother to so many of us. One thing we will say about my mother is that her sons-in-law and daughters-in-law adored her because she was also able to share her heart with the ones that her kids loved and took them in as if they were her very own.  
Although we individually said goodbye to our mom on Friday, November 14, 2014, we want everyone to know that she was the best mother a child could ask for, the rock on which we stood, a bright star in the dark night, the laughter through many heartaches. We thank God she was our mother and though it hurt to say goodbye to her last week,  we will treasure the memories knowing that one day our tears will dry and we will live our lives the way she taught us.

To all of Aunt Hessy's children, their spouses, and her grandchildren, this message of condolence is written on behalf of all of the Forde and Prescott cousins and your last remaining aunt on the Forde side, Audrey.  We were blessed and honored to have known your mother these many years  She will always be remembered for her sweet and gentle spirit.         May you all remain strong in the knowledge that her place in the heavenly Kingdom must be assured given the strength of, and commitment to, her faith.

Aunty Hessy came into our lives 50 plus years ago when she married my father Cyril Forde. She was always kind, loving and gracious to us and treated us as family members. 
When I last spoke to her, as she was preparing to visit the USA,she seemed to be her normal self looking forward to seeing all of you. It was shocking to hear of her illness and subsequent death.
She was a strong quiet lady, full of faith and a real servant of God, serving not only her family but all the people of God with whom she interacted during her lifetime on this earth. 
May she rest in peace.

It was so sad  to hear that Aunty Hessy was ill and that she died. It was so sudden and so quick. I remember many years ago when my mom (Margaret) died, Aunty Hessy stepped in and took us to church with her because she knew what it was to lose a mother so early in life, I was just 16yrs. She was so very practical and so kind. Even though we were not in contact daily. I will miss her. Love to Donnie, Ronald, Tony ,Annie, Cathy, Carol and grands and great grands. I lost my mother in law on friday. Many people will mourn her death, especially her children and grandchildren. But, not just them but everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. To me she was not just my mother in law but my friend, advisor, and ,my mother as well according to a promise she made to me when my own mother had died and one that she kept right down to her end. I will miss her dearly. I will miss her endearing smile and many conversations that we had through the years. I thank her for what she has done for me. I look forward to seeing her again and picking up where we left off.

My Mamie Hessy! Every morning I still get up in denial, thinking that I just had a bad dream! I thank Jehovah that I will be able to see her again soon! I will be able to hear the laugh and see her smile. When I think of my Mamie Hessy, she was always generous (she always had something to give you!), inquisitive (she always wanted to know what you had in that bag!), loving (she was able to make each and everyone of us feel like we were her favorite!), selfless (she would easily leave herself undone for anyone of us) and true (yes true, that is why she always said it was her mouth that would get her in trouble!)

Each conversation I ever had with my Mamie Hessy always led to her showing me a point of view that I never saw before or probably overlooked. This was because she could spot a dot of positive in any person and in any situation. 

I will miss her dearly but this is no good bye but a See You Later!!!!! Love you much! Janessa!

On Friday November 14th, my grandmother took her final breath. Broken hearted doesn't begin to describe how I feel. On October 18th after receiving her cancer diagnosis we sat and talked for hours about how she would take her treatment and we would all laugh about this next year. Watching my grandmother, the greatest woman who ever walked the face of this earth, whither away and eventually die just a few weeks after finding out she had colon cancer, has been the most humbling experience of my life. Knowing her love and having been one of the grandchildren she cared for in our early years has afforded me a privilege I will be eternally grateful for. She was truly the best person I know. I aspire one day to be as loved, cherished, honored, and as true as she was up until the very end. So many memories forever cherished, and always in my heart, Mammy Hessy,  I love you and I will miss you dearly.

Hess you have been a great neighbor to me for years, and you were more than a sister. You were always there when i needed you, Waheed and I will miss you dearly.

Our mother left us the greatest gift- that was her deep faith and hope. She was a true and loyal servant of Jehovah. I hope to be among the ones to welcome her back. When she found out about her illness, I asked her how was it that she was being so strong. She touched her head and then her feet and calmly stated that from her head to her toe it was all about Jehovah. That was who she was, a person of strong and unwavering faith. She was my mother, my sister and my friend.

To all my cousins the Fordes the passing of Auntie Hess is so deep for me because she was like my other mother. Hess was the one Aunt I sought out for advice on family situations just like your father Cyro. She was kind, forgiving, lovel, helpful, cheerful and always looking for the brighter side to issues. Auntie Hess was a giant in a small body and had more courage and fortitude then most people. She stood by you in good or bad times and more was there for you when you needed her.She loved to make fun of some situations and enjoyed a good laugh and small things pleased her.I will certainly miss your mother...my mother too. Please know that she would surely missed.

To those of you who know me, you know above all else family comes first, and over this weekend I lost my grandmother to her fight against cancer. She courageously fought against 4 different cancers, a heart attack and a series of strokes all of which occurred over the past few months. During the agony of this process every time I saw her she greeted me with a smile and kiss on the cheek. Through all her pain and suffering she found the strength to show love, compassion, and hope for my family and me. As she continued to reach the terminal phase of her illness, as it's obvious to anyone whose been around me, I began to get angry depressed and quite honestly a bit unstable with the thought of waking up and not having a grandmother, however in spite of what she was going through, she from her mouth told me not to be a victim to my own despair, and to cherish all the things going well. While fighting for her last thread of life all she cared about was her children and those close to her. Believe it or not a part of me believes she selflessly chose to leave this world so we would no longer suffer for her sake, and for my family and I too celebrate who she was to us, and for what we will become with her memory engraved in our hearts. She was that kind of person. I know people usually say their loved ones are good people, but my Grandma Hessy Jean Forde set the bar unbelievably high in my eyes. She went above and beyond for any and everyone she came to meet, she didn't make friends, she simply brought people in to our family, whether we liked them or not. I have a hard time keeping up with all the cousins and uncles I have because anyone she became close with became her child or sibling. She always opened my eyes when I couldn't see, and forced me into broadening my horizons. I wish you didn't have to suffer the way you did, and I told myself that when I saw you I'd demand 20 more years out of you, but when I saw you in that hospital bed I just wanted you to have peace, so I agreed to let you rent a permanent space in my heart, until we can be together again. Au Revoir, my sweet grandmother, I promise to keep you in a part of my heart until the last beat.

From a distance the MAJESTIC OAK is a symbol of strength with its tremendous route system for support and is admired for it's strength as it stands tall above other trees and exudes strength; while the LITTLE SAPLING is viewed as weak and immature because it sways with every breeze and it slumps over when it is overburdened with heavy snow.Which will survive the worst of storms, the MAJESTIC OAK which stands steadfast against all the winds or THE LITTLE SAPLING which bends and sways with every breeze? 
Sometimes a storm comes along and the MAJESTIC OAK stands strong and is unable and unwilling to bend, with each gust of wind some branches are blown to the ground until finally when the most powerful gust of wind rips the MAJESTIC OAK from its roots tearing at all the unseen stress fractures and rips it from its roots and it lies on its sides never to grow again. All the while the LITTLE SAPLING is bending to and fro, losing all its leaves until finally that great gust of wind comes along and bends it all the way over until its top touches the ground but when the wind stops the clouds clear the LITTLE SAPLING stands erect once again glowing in the sunlight.
Sometimes people admire the strength of the person who shows no emotions and shed no tears at the funeral of a loved one and thinks that the person is strong and brave; while there are those who scorn the person who slumps over from the heavy burden of the loss and cries and shows his emotion. Do not be a MAJESTIC OAK and mask your pain because the unseen stresses can  join together and lie you down on you side, never to stand erect again. Although you will be at the breaking point sometimes, cry and cope and deal with the emotions and problems that comes with your loss and be like the LITTLE SAMPLING and bend to and fro as this gust of wind grows stronger and stronger and when the storm passes you all would be able to stand steadfastly erect.

Quiet, simple, always smiling, beautiful human being. Hessy, may you find all your loved ones where you are.....rest in peace, gentle lady.

Where do i start? We didn't have the closest relationship we should of had but when we did talk she always had words of encouragement :) the last time I saw her was on her way to service at kingdom hall which is footsteps away from where my other grandmother lives an i walked with her till she reached her destination an she did what she ALWAYS does every time she saw me HOLD MY HAND...before she enter the gate of the kingdom hall we talked a bit as usual she told me take care of myself an she left. I can honestly say I'm sorry i didn't spend more time with her but I'm honored an privileged to say she's my grandmother. I really wished u could've seen my girls before u made your earthly departure but i find peace in knowing u will be watching over them :) May u rest in peace until we meet again on the other side

It is still very hard to believe you are gone. My most loving Grandmother who was incredibly special to everyone who has ever met you because was one-of-a-kind and we all miss you terribly. I hope that we can honor you in the best way that we possibly can.
Nothing in the world could ever replace one second of the time I was fortunate enough to spend with you. You gave everything you had and more to make us all as happy as possible, and your sacrifices were not in vain. Your love is forever appreciated and valued more than you may ever know. I loved just to sit and talk with you about anything, no matter how trivial. You always had time for me. You were never too busy and you never pushed me away.
You held me and hugged me saying, "always be a good girl”. You cooked for me and cleaned up after my messes without a thought of a thank you. You laughed with me when I was happy and hugged me so warmly when I was sad. You always told me, "The end of the story is better than than the beginning."
I close my eyes and I see you, I love you and cherish you with all my heart. I see you in the sunshine and I feel your presence in every warm breeze. The three hardest words that I have ever uttered are “Hess is dead”. Anyone who knows me, know that I am devastated because my mom was my best friend.  My prayers were answered because my mom did not pass away alone in a hospital but at home with people who loved her. My only regret is that she did not get to go back to her home in Trinidad and Tobago. All I could think about right now is that I would never see her again, or hear her talk, I know that it is not really, ever again, but not for a very long time. The last few weeks of my mom's life I watched her deteriorate from a vibrant independent person to a silent form laying on a bed dependent on us to turn her every two hours and not being able to eat or drink. She had fought valiantly, but now the battle was over. Even though she is no longer physically here, her legacy lives on in me, my children and grandchildren. I LOVED HER WITH ALL OF MY HEART.
