Elisa Renee Marquardt

Elisa was born on July 12, 1954 in Canyon, Texas to her parents, William Clyde Swatzell and Leta Springer Swatzell. Her family moved to Jacksonville, Florida at an early age. She attended area schools and graduated from Terry Parker High School in the class of 1972 and later from University of Central Florida with a bachelors degree in Sociology. She was a devoted mother and wife who was especially active in her daughters’ education and activities. She was very outgoing with many friends and interests, which included a love for animals, especially cats.

She is preceded in death by her father and younger brother, Mark.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Terry Marquardt; her daughters, Rachel Hartrick (Bennett) and Amy Marquardt, all of Cary. Also surviving is her mother; sister, Denise Kreis (Jimmy); and brother, Jeff Swatzell, all of Jacksonville, Florida. Also many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Family will receive friends and guests from 9:45 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Triangle Community Church with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. She will be laid to rest at a later date.

In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be donated to Safe Haven For Cats, Raleigh, NC; Springfield Kitty Cat Shack Rescue, Jacksonville, FL or Mayport Cats, Jacksonville, FL.
