Daniel Eugene Robinson

Mr. Daniel Eugene Robinson, age 73, of Apex, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023. Daniel was born on December 28, 1949 in Spartanburg, SC to Thomas and Betty Jean Robinson.

Dan served honorably his country in the United States Marine Corps (Vietnam era) from 1969 to 1973. After his military service Dan’s career consisted a span from Finance, Oil Field Support with Exxon Mobile, Gulf Coast Catering and Restaurant Management. Most recently Dan enjoyed working with friends at Short Journey Retreat Center in Smithfield North Carolina.

Dan was a devoted husband to Ellen and loving Father to April and Ashley. He was a member of HEART Pet Rescue for many years where he participated as a volunteer, transporter and foster. He opened his heart and his home to many fur babies along the way in need of a transitional home and tons of love.

He loved attending and supporting Miracle League of the Triangle Baseball for special needs adults and children sharing the joy of sports and fellowship.

Dan is preceded in death by his father Thomas Robinson, mother Betty Jean Wiley, sisters Renata Robinson Taylor, Laura Atkins and brother, Allen D. (Chip) Robinson, daughters, April and Ashley Robinson and Grandson Dalton Robinson. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Ellen A. Robinson; brothers, Thomas Randall (Randy) Robinson and Jason Robinson; sister, Cheryl Allagood; and stepmom, Dorothy Robinson; grandchildren, Candice, Cody and Kyle; and 4 precious great grandchildren along with many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Dan leaves behind many much-loved family members and friends. “He loved you all”.

We wish to acknowledge all of our dear family and friends who each in their own way loved, prayed for and supported Dan and Ellen throughout Dan’s journey. Where would we be without your strength. Thank you and God bless you all.
