He was born on February 19, 1935 in Glasgow, KY to the late Ralph and Myrtle Morris. Carroll was raised on a self-sustaining farm in Kentucky. Carroll joined the U.S. Marine Corps and completed basic training at Camp Lejeune. He served our country honorably in South Korea for three years. He married the love of his life, Jane Kinslow in 1956. Carroll ran a successful business, Michigan Industrial Hardwood in Northwest Indiana, for over 40 years. Carroll enjoyed world traveling and occasionally using his skills to play card games such as black jack and rook.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Jane Kinslow Morris and brothers, Arnold Morris and Robert Nelson Morris.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Donna (Mike) Murphy and Diane (Rich) White; sisters, Freida (James) Webb and Betty Layne Barnett; grandchildren, Rylan (Kelli) Murphy, Shaine (Alexa) Murphy, Weston (Emily) Murphy, Shaylyn Murphy, Jennifer White and Alan White; four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends and guests on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Apex Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
Family will also receive friends and guests on Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 10:00-11:00 at A.F. Crows Funeral Home in Glasgow followed by a graveside burial at Glasgow Municipal Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of customary remembrances, memorial contributions may be donated to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC or Wounded Warrior Project.
