James David Reed

James was born on December 26, 1960, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to Robert and Diane Reed. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in May 1979. He married Janet Axberg at the Apple Valley Assemblies of God on May 6th, 1989.

Jim worked construction most of his life and retired from Morcon as a job superintendent of the company. He also loved hunting, fishing and loved his pets. He also coached hockey and baseball for many years. He was an avid spectator of his children’s sports as well as the Twins, Wild and Vikings games. Jim was a long time member of Anoka Covenant Church and worked on the Covenant Pines board for many years, working on many construction projects updating the camp. Jim was also a member of the same AA group for 36 years and loved all his brothers.

Jim is preceded in death by his father Robert Reed, nephew Dustin Bonham, and Mother-in law Roberta Axberg.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Janet Reed, daughter Danielle Reed (Tyler Moore), son Andrew Reed (Mary Korbel), mother Diane Reed, sisters Bobbie Lyn Reed, Pam Olson and Patty (Bob) Barrett, brothers-in-law Jim (Jolena) Axberg, Tom (Carol) Axberg, father-in-law John (Diane) Axberg, God Son Bryce Bonham and God Mother Janis Reed. Many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He had a very special cousin Rian Reed.

Visitation will be held from 10am until time of service at 11am on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Anoka Covenant Church, 752 Grant St., Anoka.
