Walter Thomas Reaves

Funeral Service will be on Thursday October 10, 2024 11 am at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 am until 11am before the service. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. Rev. Terry Smith will be officiating.

Mr. Walter Reaves passed away on October 5, 2024 peacefully at home surrounded with all his family.

He is survived by his son, David Reaves; daughters, Susan Cheatwood, Vickie Cathey, and Tammy Broadwell (Jerry); grandchildren, Jennifer, Mandy, Jamie, Tommy, Becky, Amber, Jacob and Hannah; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sue Reaves; parents, Joseph Raymond and Maggie Roberts Reaves; brother, James Lewis Reaves; sister, Elizabeth Wells.

Pallbearers’ will be Tommy Cathey, Bailey Thomas, Gabe Thomas, Will Stancil, Corey Garner, Mitch Garner, Trenton Brown and Jacob Broadwell. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Brown and Jerry Broadwell.

Walter was a loving father and husband who loved Jesus and he truly lived up to what he confessed. He was loved by all who knew him. He was the greatest granddaddy and babydoll.

He was a long time member of Patton’s Chapel Baptist Church.
