Funeral service for Rodney Freeman Turner, 67, of Eastaboga, will be 2 pm Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Eastaboga Baptist Church with Pastor Keith Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Plum Springs Cemetery in Eastaboga. The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to service at the church. Mr. Turner passed away from death unto life Monday, September 24, 2018.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 46 years, Sarah Alldredge Turner; daughter, Dawn Waldrop (Keith), Frances Gauntt (Trey); grandsons, John David Waldrop, Will Waldrop and Miller Gauntt; granddaughter, Sadie Grace Gauntt; brother, Rickey Turner and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mr. Turner is preceded in death by his parents, Freeman and Bobbie Turner and a grandson, Carter Waldrop.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Turner, Seth Gee, Mike Gee, Elmer Bell, Doug Thomas and Jerry Shealy.
Mr. Turner served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot after 30 years of service. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church and served as an ordained deacon. The family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice and the fourth floor nurses and staff at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. The family wishes to thank Darrell Warnell for his excellent care.
