Ida Jewell O'Dell

Funeral services for Mrs. Ida Jewell O’Dell, 85, of Anniston, will be Wednesday, November 20th, 2024, 1:00 p.m., in the chapel of Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with Rev. Michael Sanderson, Bro. Earl Tucker, and Rev. Harold Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Ragans Chapel Cemetery in Ohatchee, AL. The family would like to welcome friends at 11:30 a.m. prior to service time. Mrs. O’Dell passed away on November 16th, 2024.

She is survived by her husband of 64 beautiful years, John Wayne O’Dell; daughters, Crystal O’Dell Roberts and her husband Jonathan, Freda Jewell Weathers and her husband Danny; grandchildren, Kayla Michelle Sanderson and her husband Michael, Matthew Scott Robertson and his wife Elyana, Brittney Nicole Robertson, Jonathan Hugh Weathers and his wife Julie, Miranda Nicole Daugherty and her husband Joseph; great grandchildren, Anna Marie Sanderson, Aaron Nathanial Daugherty, Aiden Roy Daugherty, Mattie Renae Weathers, Austin Hugh Weathers, Ida Elaine Adams, John Waylon Adams, Kierra Maree Daugherty.

Mrs. O’Dell is preceded in death by her parents Raymon and Alta Hester; sisters, Frances Norris Thompson, Mildred Maquirk, Annie Lou Harris; brothers, Virgil “Red” Hester and Floyd “Harry” Hester.

Those serving as pallbearers will be Matthew Robertson, Jonathan Weathers, Joseph Daugherty, Jared O’Dell, Clayton O’Dell, and Jason O’Dell.

Ida was a phenomenal lady who loved her family, gardening and flowers. Her favorite flower of all time was a carnation. She was a woman of strong faith, a member of New Canaan Baptist Church, and was a devoted mother and grandmother to her family. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren with all her heart. She also was a huge Alabama football fan to the very end.
