Evelyn is survived by her daughters Rita Smith; Sharon Mayfield and Stephanie Orth (Billy Ray); and her honorary daughter Phyllis Wyatt; her brother Jerry Harper; her grandchildren Allison Loos (Steve), Keither Snider, her great grandchildren Brett Gilbert (Aleshia), Kendall Key (Hunter), Landin Snider, Gavin Snider, her great great grandchildren Ayden Gilbert, Bradley Gilbert and Charles Bullock, and several nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Troy Smith Jr.; her parents Virgil and Myrtle Harper; her brothers Gerald and Raymond Harper.
Funeral service for Evelyn will be Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Eulaton United Methodist Church with Rev. Virgil Bohn officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Serving as pallbearers are Hunter Cain, Landin Snider, Gene Turner, Bill Thomas Jr., Billy Ray Thomas and Steve Loos.
Evelyn was a resident of Calhoun County and a member of Eulaton United Methodist Church. She attended Anniston High School and worked for 15 years with the Cerebral Palsy Center as a teachers aide. She enjoyed going to the auto shop where spent time with family and friends. She loved to listen to music and dancing and cruising in the vintage autos. Evelyn loved and lived life to its fullest. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Eulaton United Methodist Church.
