Funeral Service for Donald Mangum, of Wellington, will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at Wellington 1st Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Miller and Rev. Jackie Bentley officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until service time at the church. Mr. Mangum went to be with the Lord Friday morning surrounded by his family.
Mr. Mangum is survived by his wife of 30 years Vickie Ward Mangum; four children, Shonda M Lackey (Chris), Donald “Bucky” Mangum, Trent Mangum (Patricia), and Ward Acker (Nicolette); brothers, Ken Mangum (Pam) & Randy Mangum (Tina); grandchildren, Leigh Brooks (Andrew), Ashley Lackey, Michael Lackey (Haven), Jacob Callahan, Alexis Callahan, Zach Mangum (Nicole), Savannah Stillwell, Jackson Acker, Nicholas Acker and River Stillwell; Great Grandchildren, Jacee Brooks, Anderson Brooks and Daxton Rowland; and several nieces and nephew.
He is proceeded in death by parents, Ken and Mildred Mangum; and Grandson Hunter Mangum.
Thank you to pallbearers Kenneth “Legg” Ford, Jimmy Dodd, Joey Stewart, and Randy Sloan for agreeing to walk Daddy down the aisle at Wellington First Baptist Church one last time.
Mr. Mangum was a lifelong resident of Wellington and retired from M&H Valve where he worked most of his life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially loved teaching grandkids and great grandkids to fish and hunt. He was loved by everyone he knew. He as a fighter and fought this ugly disease until the very end.
