Carol Johnson

Carol Johnson, age 79, of Anniston, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. Carol was born January 20, 1942 and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, until she meet the love of her life. She moved to Anniston in 1973 where she worked at a credit union and banks while taking care of sick children. She raised 5 children and lived a very full life. After retirement she joined The Moose Lodge #1669 Chapter 1539 where she really enjoyed socializing, raising money for moose heart and moose haven.

Carol is survived by her daughters Rebecca Russell; and Luane Evans (Wade); her sister Linda Sheridan; her grandchildren Blake Johnson (Marlena), Michael Knightly, Kristi Jones (Timothy), Bob Knightly (Lori), Stephanie Bass (R.J.), Emily Pritchett, Jennifer Dodgen, Amber Davis, Tara Evans and 17 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She also had a very special furry daughter Chloe Johnson, who was her lifeline.

Carol is preceded in death by her loving husband Sam Johnson, 2 sons Sammy and David Johnson, 1 daughter Cynthia Ferrell and 1 grandson Adam Knightly and her parents Dub and Lena Blake, sister Betty Williams (Bill) and brother-in-law Ed Sheridan.

Services for Carol will be Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 2:00PM at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Rev. Jesse Barksdale officiating. Burial will follow at Middleton Presbyterian Cemetery in Ohatchee. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers are Aiden Pritchett, Tracen Jones, Daeton Rines and Lucas Rines, Lane Bass, Noah Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers are Timothy Jones, Wes Pritchett, Blake Johnson, RJ Bass and Bob Knightly.
