Audrey Huff went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 1 at the age of 90, the last survivor of twelve children of Walter and Inia Green. She was a much-loved mother and grandmother. Her husband, Gene Huff, preceded her in death in January 1990.
Audrey is survived by three children, Janice Waltz (David) of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Sandra Huff of Anniston, and David Huff (Betsy) of Helena, Alabama. Her grandchildren are Lauren Waltz (Alli), Jonathan Waltz, Cole Huff, Izzie Huff, and Sam Huff. Her first great-grandchild, Avery Jane Waltz, is due in June.
Audrey graduated from Anniston High School in 1947, and married the love of her life in 1951 before he shipped off to the Korean War. As the wife of a career soldier, she moved numerous times with her husband and family, returning to Anniston with the children to live when Gene served his country overseas during war, and she settled back in Anniston after Gene’s death. Audrey was very active in her church, teaching Sunday school, speaking to various groups, and leading missions emphases.
Funeral services officiated by Dr. David Waltz will be held at Gray Brown Funeral Home, on Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Internment will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.
