Thomas Paul Stevens, 81, passed away on February 4, 2024, in Arnold, MD. Born on September 17, 1942, in Shaker Heights, OH to the late Edmund and Rose Stevens. Tom spent 40 years as a resident of Severna Park, Grasonville, and Arnold, MD. He received his undergraduate degree from Wittenburg University. He spent the next five years attending Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI and then served in the US Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer onboard West Coast-based ships. While in Newport, he met his future wife, Dianna. Following his active-duty naval service, Tom worked as a financial planner and advisor in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Maryland. His expertise and dedication made him a valuable asset to the families he implemented personalized plans for their financial goals.
Tom had a wide range of interests and hobbies. As an avid sports fan, he loved his Redskins, Bullets, Orioles, and Nationals as well as following his grandkids’ sporting interests. He loved tending to his garden and koi pond, landscaping around the yard, sailing, golf, and woodworking. He was never too far from his beloved Labrador Retrievers.
Family and faith were of utmost importance to Tom. Tom was an active member of St. Mary’s Parish of Annapolis. He was married to Dianna Robinson, the mother of his children, Brad (daughter-in-law, Jen), Maggie (son-in-law, Ben Sale), and Tom (daughter-in-law, Sandra) who will forever cherish the memories they shared with their father. Tom is also survived by nine of his grandchildren: Ryan, Kate, Megan, Benjamin, Josephine, Sam, Elizabeth, Tommy, and Natalie. He was preceded in death by his father, Edmund, his mother, Rose, and his brother, Robert.
A visitation for Thomas will be held Friday, February 9, 2024 from 5 to 8 PM at John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, Maryland 21401. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 10:30 AM in Saint Mary Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401. A graveside service will occur Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 11:45 AM at Saint Mary Cemetery, 844 West Street, Annapolis, MD 21401.
