Edward "Sonny" Stephen Hendricks Jr.

Edward Stephen Hendricks, Jr. “Sonny” passed away on August 14, 2017 at the Rebecca Fortney Inpatient Care Center after a brief illness. Sonny formally of Annapolis, resided in Arnold for the past 25 years. He was born on November 5, 1934 in Annapolis to the late Katherine Hendricks (nee Leitch) and Edward Stephen Hendricks, Sr. After graduating from Annapolis High School in 1952 he sought employment as a Real Estate Agent and later retired as a contractor for Wagner Homes. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Annapolis, enjoyed hunting, crabbing, fishing, golf and wood carving. Sonny is predeceased by his wife Jan Hendricks in 2008, a grandson Brian Hendricks and a companion Sheila Whitt. Survived by his children Edward Stephen Hendricks, III “Steve” and his wife Maria of Rehoboth, Delaware, Stacey Manis and her husband Nick of Annapolis, Scott Hendricks of Annapolis, step daughter Darlene Wagner of Arnold, brother F. Ray Hendricks and his wife June of Annapolis, grandchildren Michele Manis of Annapolis, G. Nick Manis of Annapolis, Natalie Hendricks of Annapolis, Jeff Wagner of Arnold and Kristin Wagner of Arnold. The family will receive friends at the John M. Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street Annapolis, MD 21401 on Monday from 1 to 2 PM. A Memorial Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Monday at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials in Sonny’s name to Rebecca Fortney Inpatient Care Center C/O Hospice of the Chesapeake 90 Ritchie Highway Pasadena, Maryland 21122 will be appreciated.
