Charles Edward Collins “Eddie”, 76, passed away August 2, 2016 after a lengthy illness. He was born July 26, 1940 in Annapolis to the late James B and Harriet L. Collins. Eddie was a lifelong resident of Annapolis and a lieutenant with the Annapolis Fire Department from 1965 to his retirement in 1998. He was an active member of the Annapolis Police and Firefighter Retiree Association and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Martin Collins. Eddie is survived by his loving wife, Pamela Collins (formerly, Como), whom he married in 1977; daughter, Megan Giles and her husband ,Frank; grandchildren, Frankie and Amelia Giles; brother, James T. Collins of TN; sisters, Mary Lucille Wooten of Annapolis and Barbara Ann Ellis of Ridgely. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the John M Taylor Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester St., Annapolis. A funeral service will be held 11:00am Sunday, August 7, 2016 at the John M Taylor Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
