Richard Jeff Lehman, 73, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, died early Sunday, November 25th, 2018, in the caring and loving community of Fairlane Senior Care and Rehabilitation, in Detroit, Michigan. He was born on November 15, 1945, in Miami, Florida to Sarah Corwin Lehman and Richard Francis Lehman, the eldest of four children.
He graduated from Mamaroneck High School, in Mamaroneck New York, in 1963, where he had been president of the Science Association, and was member of the Concert Choir, Debate team, and the National Thespian Society.
Jeff attended Case Institute of Technology, before serving for three years with the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge in 1968.
On June 3rd, 1968, he married Patricia Eleanor Voichahoske in Austin, TX. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with their two children this spring.
Jeff earned a Bachelor's of Science from The University of Texas at Austin in 1971, and attended graduate school at the University of Michigan. He retired from The University of Michigan in 2006 after 35 years with the Transportation Research Institute, a job he described as “Drawing pretty pictures and playing with neat toys.”
Jeff is survived by his wife, Tish, his siblings, Cathy (Tom) Kaplan, John (Peggy) Lehman, and Ginny (Michael) Gilmore, his children, Po (Jean) Lehman and Emma (Matthew Carlson) Lehman, granddaughter Angela (Joe) Arnold, and great grandchildren Trevan and Evelyn.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 28 from 4:00 - 8:00PM at the Muehlig Funeral Chapel, 403 S. Fourth Ave., Ann Arbor, MI. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 29 at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Ann Arbor.
