Age 85, passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at her home. She was born January 12, 1935 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Howard and Ruth (Sager) Hill. Marilyn was a member of the Order of the Rainbow for Girls from 1950 to 1965; she gained the highest office of her local assembly, Worthy Advisor. Marilyn was also gifted in music, playing both piano and violin. She played in the Wayne State Symphony Orchestra from 1952-1953 and maintained her talents as a pianist for soloists and various organizations. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a BA in 1961, and received her MA in 1968. She taught in the Wyandotte Public Schools for 32 years from 1961 to 1993. In her retirement, she was a Ann Arbor News Paper Carrier from 1998-2007. She was one of the outstanding carriers in 2005 and was honored at a banquet in March 2006. Marilyn enjoyed traveling, having been to most of the states and various European countries. Photography became a favorite past time during many of these travels. She was also an avid collector of Teddy Bears, and participated in many Arts and Crafts shows selling Teddy Bears that she had designed and dressed. She is survived by her cousins, Hugh (Carolyn) and Terry (Connie) Jones, and her close friends, Gilda, Carol and Liz. She was preceded in death by her parents. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 2 PM.
