Jane Marie Richardson

Died peacefully after a brief illness at the Evangelical Home - Saline on November 5, 2012. Jane was born July 8, 1924 to John and Edna (Lambert) McMahon in Ann Arbor. Jane grew up in Ann Arbor; graduated from Ann Arbor High School and attended Michigan State University. She married Wayne E. Richardson on October 5, 1946 and lost him to a sudden death in 2003. Jane’s life was devoted to helping others. She was a lifelong member of the Bethlehem United Church of Christ, active in the Women’s Fellowship, Mothers’ Study Circle, and Prayer Chain; and volunteered for 37 years at the Evangelical Home - Saline. She loved to cook, specializing in cookies for her grandchildren and church events. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the love of her life. Jane is survived by her children and their spouses, John (Cheryl), James (Janet Gerson), and Doug (Lisa) Richardson ; grandchildren, Russell (Allison Young), Michael (Erinn), Scott, Matthew, Torrey, and Aaron Richardson; step-grandchildren, Michelle and Brandon Holliday; great-grandchildren Sydney, Anna, and Leo Richardson; step-great-grandchildren Shayla Chebbi and Jordon Merlin; sister-in-law Frances Richardson; and many nieces and nephews. Jane was predeceased by her parents and stepfather, Albert Lutz; sister, Barbara Riemenschneider; brother-in-laws, Richard Riemenschneider and Stanley Richardson; and stepbrothers, Robert and Albert Lutz. A memorial service will be held at 11 AM December 3rd at Bethlehem United Church of Christ on Fourth Ave. in Ann Arbor. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to donate to Bethlehem United Church of Christ, Evangelical Home - Saline, or Arbor Hospice.
