Jane Peterson died peacefully on April 7, in the company of her family. She was born on June 18, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Charles and Jenny Bueker. She grew up in Detroit and graduated from Immaculata High School. While attending the University of Michigan’s School of Nursing, she met her husband Donald—then a football player and later a long-time dentist in Ann Arbor. Before Jane began her nursing career, she spent a season in Aspen skiing and as a singing waitress at Mario’s restaurant. She remained an avid skier most of her life, teaching all seven of her children to ski. In addition to raising a large family, Jane was an active volunteer in the Ann Arbor community. St. Francis Parish, Meals on Wheels, Catholic Charities of Washtenaw County, The Thrift Shop, PEO, and UM School of Nursing were among the organizations that enjoyed her talents. She loved people, she loved animals, and she loved a good party. Jane is survived by daughters Mary Campbell (Keith) and Sarah Berg (David); sons William (Wesenyelesh), Jon, Christopher, and Donald (Lisa). She was the proud grandmother of Michael and James Campbell; Kyrsten, Katelyn, and Christian Berg; Lisalee Peterson; Aaron and Callahan Peterson; and Kael and Donovan Peterson. She was preceded in death by her husband and daughter Catherine Anne. A Mass of Christian burial will take place 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (2250 E. Stadium Blvd.) with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service. Jane will be laid to rest at St. Thomas Cemetery.
