Diane Marie Wentland

WENTLAND, DIANE MARIE beloved sister and friend, passed from our presence on October 15, 2019. Diane left behind brothers Daniel (Kathy) and Scott, loving sister-in-law and dear friend, Sandra Wentland and a host of loyal friends. She is also survived by nephews, Thomas (Amanda) and Keith and grand-niece, Paige and grand-nephew, Jacob. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas (Sandra), mother, Eileen Carroll Wentlandand father, Wilbert Arthur Wentland. Diane's smile and ability to bring comfort and laughter to students and staff will be missed at Emerson School where she served as a Medical Assistant since 2013. Diane also worked as a member of the HVA team, where she served her community as a paramedic. She was a member (and sometimes teacher and leader) of The HVA Hazmat Response Team, The Technical/Confined Space Rescue Team and The HVA Bike Medic Team. One of Diane's most endearing duties at HVA was as a proud member of the HVA Honor Guard. Diane also gave invaluable support as a volunteer to The Cancer Support Community of Southeast Michigan. And, affectionately known as "The Animal Whisperer," Diane did pet-sitting for more than 36 years in the Ann Arbor Area. She had a magic touch with the dogs and cats in her care. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on November 2, 2019 at Bethlehem United Church of Christ, 423 S. 4th Ave, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104. Visitation will be at 10am, service at 11am followed by a gathering of friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to The Cancer Support Community of Southeast Michigan, The Humane Society or Arbor Hospice.
