Cynthia Hood was born on July 30, 1966, in Alabama, to the union of Mary Frances Williams and Abe Hood. Cynthia later moved to Detroit where she attended Detroit Public Schools. She devoted her life to Christ at an early age. Cynthia had a radiant smile and a vibrant personality that could light up any room. She had a deep love for laughter and cherished spending time with her beloved family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Cynthia was preceded in death by: her husband, Frank Williams, her son, Levon Taylor, sisters Bobbie Ann Howard, Sandra Worthington, and Linda McFarland, brothers Roosevelt Howard and Abraham Howard, sister-in-law Robin Hightower, and brother-in-law Michael McFarland.
Cynthia leaves to cherish her memories are her sons: Ronald Hood and Bobby Taylor, daughters: Monita Taylor and Stacey Taylor, sisters: Ella Howard and Maylene Hood, brothers: Andrew Howard and Jimmy Howard, sisters-in-law: Charlene Howard and Matthew Rutledge, brother-in-law Jimmy Worthington, daughter-in-law Keisha Hood, son-in-law Jeral Bridges, special friends Ronald Taylor and Melvin Taylor, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved soul, Cynthia Hood one of God's greatest soldiers, who has now returned to the arms of the Lord. As the scripture reminds us,"To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8).
A Public Visitation to honor and remember Ms. Cynthia Hood will be held on Thursday June 20, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Baber Memorial AME Church 15045 Burt Road Detroit, Michigan 48223
A Celebration of Life service for Ms. Cynthia Hood will take place on Friday June 21, 2024 Starting with the Family Hour at 10:00 am followed by the Funeral at 11:00 am at Baber Memorial AME Church 15045 Burt Road Detroit, Michigan 48223.
