Brandon was born on June 4, 1982 in Southfield, Michigan, the beloved son of Dean and Stephanie (née Jacob) Henkel.
Brandon graduated from Novi High School in 2000 and attended Northwood University where he earned a degree in Business Administration.
Upon graduation from Northwood, Brandon began as an intern at Toyota Motor Company in Southern California and his dedication and hard work led to full-time positions over the next 18 years in the Los Angeles Region. He held various leadership positions as a district and later regional manager, including most recently as the Regional Vehicle Supply Manager, Customer Service Field Manager, and Vehicle Field Sales Manager. He worked in positions across departments including marketing, distribution, and sales. Brandon always believed in putting the customer first, dealer second, and company third. He is remembered by his colleagues for his optimism, energy, and positive spirit.
Brandon’s passion was mountain biking, and he successfully competed in many regional races including the 137-mile long Belgian Waffle Ride. He also loved his summer vacations spent at Elk Lake in northern Michigan with his extended family. Brandon is remembered for his dedication to his family, his kind and easygoing nature, and his sense of humor and ability to tell hilarious stories.
Brandon will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Stephanie and Dean Henkel of Whitmore Lake, Michigan, his brother Garrett Henkel (Meghan Dunn) of Redford, Michigan, his nephews Kaleb Henkel and Kyle Henkel, and the rest of his family, friends, and colleagues.
A private memorial and celebration of life will be held in Redford, MI on October 12th. Please contact the family for details.
