Michael Edwin Clausen

A Memorial Service will be held at Ankeny Funeral Home, 1510 W 1st St. Ankeny, IA 50023, on Saturday, July 15th, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held an hour prior to funeral services at Ankeny Funeral Home.

Michael was born on May, 23rd, 1946 the son of Edwin John Clausen and Darline Marie Louise (Rusch) Clausen. He attended Mapleton High School in Mapleton, Iowa and graduated in 1964. After graduating High School, Michael attended the University of South Dakota, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts.

Michael worked for Phillips Petroleum Co. in the Marketing Department retiring in 2005. He then went to work for Ruan Leasing as a Service Coordinator retiring from there in 2015. Michael enjoyed hunting, creating art with stained glass and learning about Genealogy.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents. Michael is survived by his wife, Kathy; his son, Shon; two sisters, Diane Winter and Julie Wolfe; four grandchildren, Nick (Jessica) Moehle, Sammantha (Chris) Clausen, Chase (Kayla) Clausen and Brady Clausen; five great-grandchildren Payton, Rhylee, Parker, McKenna, and Liam; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the Animal Rescue League in memory of Michael.
