Linda was born to the proud parents of Russell and Violet Reason in Spencer, Iowa on November 7, 1949. She went on to graduate from Spencer High School followed by the Spencer School of Business. She met Robert (Bob) Zinn in the fall of 1966 and they would seal their love in marriage on June 12, 1971. Shortly after, they would move to Ankeny, Iowa where she started as a teller at Ankeny State Bank. After holding many different positions at ASB, she moved to become secretary at St. Augustin Catholic School.
Linda enjoyed traveling with her husband and girlfriends, crossword puzzles, reading, cross stitching, attending musicals and plays at the Civic Center, and going back “home” to visit family in Spencer. Linda was very proud of her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Robert; Linda is survived by two sons: Jeremy of Ankeny, and his wife, Amanda (Bates) and Joshua of Ankeny, and his wife, Laura (Kramer); and four grandchildren: Zachary, Preston, Kyra and Colby. Also surviving are her mother, Violet Reason of Spencer; two sisters, Barbara Muetzel (Ron) of Spencer, and Beverly Hummel (Mike) of Dickens; her mother-in-law, Mary Kay Zinn of Spencer; two brothers-in-law, Bill Zinn of Spencer and John Zinn (Diane) of Spencer and many nieces and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her father Russell Dean Reason, father-in-law Elmer Zinn and a sister-in-law Sherry Zinn.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 4 to 7pm at Ankeny Presbyterian Church, 317 SE Trilein Drive in Ankeny. Funeral services will be held at Ankeny Presbyterian Church on Tuesday April 3, 2018 at 10:30am. Lunch will follow.
