Jason Douglas Heitz

Jason Douglas Heitz, age 49, of Ankeny, passed away on Sunday, October 22nd, 2023 at his home. Jason was born in Dallas, Texas on October 25th, 1973 to Beverly Cook (Conroy) and was raised by his aunt and uncle, Mary Kathryn and Dennis Endicott, after his mother’s passing.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11 am at Experience Church, 2559 East Euclid Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa, 50317. Visitation will be held one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be held in Paton Township Cemetery on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at 3 pm.

Jason attended Ankeny High School and graduated in 1992. During his time in high school, Jason enlisted in the Iowa and Texas Army National Guard in April 24th, 1991. Jason separated from the Army National Guard on April 23rd, 2000. After high school while still enlisted in the Guard, Jason attended William Penn University, Oral Robert University, and Grandview University. Jason was employed at First Student as a bus monitor for the Ankeny School District.

On September 1, 2001, Jason was united in marriage to Amy Yeager. There were two children to this union, Kristen and Caleb. The couple later divorced. On June 4th, 2016, Jason married the love of his life, Audrie Linn Roff in Grimes, Iowa. Jason loved playing board games with Audrie. Jason enjoyed video games, books, movies and watching football, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and was a converted Iowa State fan for Audrie. He was a proud member of the Christian Motorcycle Club in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jason Douglas Heitz was preceded in death by his mother, Beverly Cook (Conroy), his aunt Mary Kathryn, his uncle, Dennis Endicott, and his maternal grandparents, Florence (Meek) and John Conroy.

Jason Douglas Heitz was survived by his wife, Audrie Heitz; daughter, Kristen Heitz; his son, Caleb Heitz; his brother, Brad Heitz, and other extended family and friends.
