Burial of ashes will take place at Ankeny Memorial Gardens on November 13th, 2024 following the service.
Bethany was born on August 29, 1992 to Raylene and Scott Rospond in Omaha, NE. She graduated from Valley High School in West Des Moines, Iowa, in 2010. Bethany then attended Drake University and graduated with a Bachelor's in Accounting in May of 2014. She began working at HyVee in West Des Moines when she was 14, and worked her way up through various positions, all the way up to bakery manager. She worked at that HyVee for 18 years. Bethany met Dan on February 8th, 2015, and they were engaged three days later. They married August 11, 2020.
Bethany played soccer throughout high school and college and was a black belt in Taekwondo. She loved her dog, Winnie, aka, Winifred Jones. She loved her friends and family. She never had an enemy, and was loved by all. Bethany was always full of attitude and love of life. She was an avid Chief's fan, an enthusiasm she shared with her siblings, much to her husband's dismay. Bethany worked tirelessly to take care of her family, and she was respected and loved by all of her coworkers. As an aunt, she took special care to buy gifts that would be loved by her nephews and despised by her sister. Her husband describes her as, "the best thing that has ever happened to him, and a total pain in the ass."
Bethany is survived by her husband, Dan Calder; step-daughters, Alexandria (Joe) Messina and Reagan Calder; parents, Raylene and Scott Rospond; siblings, Joshua (Miranda) Rospond, Heather (Ben) Rospond, and Ethan (Jason) Rospond; nephews, Rowan Jones, Leonard Rospond, and Orion Allen; grandparents, Donna Rospond and Cloreta Woods; parents-in-law, Sharon and Alex Calder; brothers-in-law, Jason Calder and Joseph Calder; sister-in-law, Stacie Calder.
