Paul Eugene Janssen

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stevens Memorial Chapel, 607 28th Street, Ames, Iowa 50010. A time of food and fellowship will immediately follow the services at the American Legion Post 37, 225 Main St, Ames, IA 50010.

Gene was born March 30, 1967 to Paul Eugene and Virginia Claire (Purvis) Janssen in Iowa City, Iowa. Gene graduated from Collins-Maxwell High School in 1985. After High School, he enlisted into the US Army. Following that Gene worked several different jobs as a mechanic and construction laborer. But Gene’s real love was working for the Easyrider Rodeos. He enjoyed the lifelong friendships that he made thru the years. His Rodeo friends were his second family. Gene touched so many lives and will be missed terribly by all those who knew him.

Gene is survived by his sister, Amy (Troy) Theilen of Ames; a brother, Jimmy Janssen (Jackie Fox) of Ames, and several nieces and nephews, Chase, Brittany, Daniel, Dalton, Tyson, Leo and Emma. He is preceded in death by his parents; maternal and paternal grandparents, and his sister, Paula.
