Stephanie Messenger

Stephanie Ann Messenger,58 of Amarillo passed away April 22, 2016. Celebration of Life services will be at 10:00 a.m.Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at Trinity Baptist Church with Nate Magloughlin officiating. Inurnment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell. Stephanie was born April 30, 1957 in Borger to Gene and Louise Proffitt. She graduated from Borger High School and also attended West Texas A&M University. She was a substitute teacher here in the Amarillo area for many years. Stephanie also loved to volunteer at her church in the children’s ministry which was near and dear to her heart. She really enjoyed being a Texas sports fan, following the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Stephanie was also very fond of John Wayne. She adored her family and her animals. Stephanie was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend who will be forever missed. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and a brother. She is survived by her husband, Mike Messenger; son, Andrew Messenger; daughter, Angela Messenger; parents, Gene and Louise Proffitt; sister, Teresa Prater and husband Joe; niece, Monica Smith and nephew, Devon Prater all of Amarillo. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. The family suggest memorials be sent to your favorite charity.
