Robert Eugene Montgomery, 68, of Amarillo died April 21, 2022. Services will be held at Arena of Life Church, 8827 S. Washington, on Tuesday April 26, 2022 at 10:00am, with Travis Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday April 25, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Home, 5400 Bell.
He was born June 25, 1953 in Lamar, CO to Edgar and Winona Montgomery.
Papa (Pops) was a good man and an even better grandfather to the many grandkids he had. He always had a story to tell and, he had a smile on his face that would light up a room. Whether he was cowboying at the feed yard or taking care of his family, everything he did was selfless. He loved his family very much. He will be forever missed and fondly remembered.
He is survived by his wife Melody Montgomery; three stepsons, Vance Pearson and wife Mary, of Amarillo, Steven Pearson and wife Cindy, Of Odessa, and Joey Martinez and wife Miranda, of Stinnett; one stepdaughter, Amy Bennert and husband Jon; ten grandchildren, Baylee and Bryce Pearson, Kelsi and Kambre Felker, Chloe Schmidt, Gavin Martinez, and Cullen, Ariel and Ashton Bennert; two great-grandchildren, Layne Schmidt and Payce Drake; one sister, Judy Stuckey and husband Jerry, of Moscow, KS.; one sister-in-law, Krickett Kirksey, of Borger; one brother-in-law, Jamie Perkins and wife Norma, of Fritch; and many nieces and nephews that he adored.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Winona Montgomery, and his first wife, Linda.
