Marvin was born on January 9, 1937 to Frank Joseph and Alma Adora (Jenkins) Koenig in Borger, Texas. Following graduation from Borger High School, Marvin enlisted in the United States Navy.
Starting as pen pals, which was actually a cat fish scenario because it was actually Lourdes’s sisters who were writing Marvin and sending him pictures of her, he met and eventually married his wife Lourdes Rosos, a marriage that spanned the course of 32 years.
Following his return from service, he took up a job as a maintenance specialist with Owens Corning. He worked hard to provide for his family. During this time, he also obtained his pilot’s license and flew a variety of single engine planes, even owning a couple at one point. For a few decades, he was an avid skydiver. When not jumping out of planes, he enjoyed skiing. He took many trips to New Mexico, which was his primary spot to enjoy skiing.
He was dedicated to helping his family out, especially his children and grandchildren, no matter the trouble they were in or he was in.
Marvin was preceded in death by Hellen Colleen Koenig, Billie Dean Koenig, Shirley Koenig, Patsy Ruth Koenig, and Harold Lee Koenig. Those left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife Lourdes Koenig, sons Thomas, Mark, Jerry, and Edward Koenig, and daughters Patricia Bastin, and Donna Owen. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Tia Huggins, Matthew Koenig, Nicholas Braddock, Samantha Braddock, Whitney Caskey, and many others; great-grandchildren Caleb Huggins Jr, Grace Huggins, Hope Braddock, Jayden Leal, Faith Koenig, Matthew Koenig II, Zoe Braddock, Mael Braddock, Zemirah Braddock, Marley Braddock, and many others; and his brothers Bill Koenig and Frank Koenig Jr.
