Martha Tolbert

Martha Carlene Tolbert, a devoted servant and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on December 3, 2024, surrounded by her family. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, at Memorial Park Funeral Home from 3-5 pm. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 9, 2024, at 2 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home with a burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was born on April 25, 1942, in Bonita, Texas, to Henry and Mabel Henderson, Martha lived a life full of compassion and service to others. Much like Martha in the Bible, she dedicated herself to helping anyone in need. Her roles as a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School volunteer, and President of the PTO are just a few examples of her unwavering commitment to her community.

In 1959, Martha married her beloved Truette Tolbert, and together they raised two children, Renick and Trulene. Martha was a proud and active mother, supporting her children in Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and after-school programs. In 1983, she earned her RN from Northwest Texas School of Nursing, a testament to her dedication and hard work. Throughout her life, Martha's kindness, generosity, and love touched everyone who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and faith that will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all who were blessed to have known her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter Truette, two grandsons, three brothers, and one sister.

Martha is survived by her children Renick Tolbert and wife Ramona, and Trulene Rutherford and husband Wayne, grandchildren Ron Tolbert, Rebecca Tolbert, Truette Tolbert, Johnny Tolbert, Rachel Lynn Leonard, Douglas Shane Rutherford, Tiffany Nicole Rutherford along with other loving family and friends
