He married his favorite dance partner and high school sweetheart, Sherry Winters, in Amarillo on July 31,1969. She preceded him in death on October 8, 2020.
Larry was kind, ornery, a great story-teller, a good and honest friend, loved the Lord, loved people, and he was a farmer in every sense of the word. He loved farming and he was good at it. Some of the best days of his life were spent in the fields with his family. Larry was always looking for ways to do things better. He invented and patented the “Three Baler Hitch” to make hay baling more efficient. These days, it is rare to see a true “family farm”, but the Winters/Robinson farm is still thriving with a deep sense of tradition and pride built on family values. They opened Robinson’s Family Feed in 2007 to continue to grow and help the areas farming families.
Larry loved Jesus and never missed an opportunity to share his faith with anyone; he always gave it to you straight. He always had a great story to tell, whether it was about growing up in the Robinson clan or the adventures he and Sherry took. Also, a bit mischievous, he loved to give a hard time, and if he did, it meant he loved you.
His grandchildren were his pride and joy! Weston has grown up on the farm and loves it as much as his papa and grandma. Ethan has his adventurous spirit, Alea and Madeline were always taking care of him and he loved time spent with them!
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother Calvin, and infant twin brothers George and William.
He is survived by his children Nici and husband Greg Schulz, son Kily and wife Tammy. Four grandchildren, Weston Robinson, Ethan Smith, Alea Smith, and Madeline Smith. Brothers, Richard(Mary), Wayne(Edythe), Garre(Lisa), and Tony(Melany); Sisters Annette Crowell(Mike), Marilyn Tarbet(Paul), and Vonita Robinson(James Williams); Sisters in law Darlene Winters and Iris Winters; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and several friends he considered family.
