John Stephen Harrold

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo.

John was born on May 5, 1946 in Batavia, New York. He moved from Croton on Hudson, New York to Amarillo, Texas in 1969. He attended West Texas State University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1971. This is where he met his wife, Shirley Ann Malone. They were married in the Chapel on the West Texas State University campus on August 26, 1972. He was a loving husband and a hard-working, good provider.

John was employed at the Levi Strauss Distribution Center on NE 24th in Amarillo for eleven years and at BSA Hospital on Wallace Boulevard in Amarillo for thirty years. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church at the Hollywood Road campus. He enjoyed chasing sunsets on Route 66, and, over the decades, caring for a collection of rescued dogs and cats. He loved spending time in the Word and with the Word.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John P. Harrold, and Gloria J. Harrold.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, a brother-in-law, Don Malone and wife, Susan, of Double Oak, Texas, and a sister-in-law, Judy White and her husband, Trandel, of Balch Springs, Texas.
