Jim left this earth to join his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 12th, 2024. Jim was an 11 year survivor of pancreatic (bile duct) cancer, a battle he fought boldly and was proud to say he was among a small percentage to survive the length of time that he did. Funeral services are scheduled for 2pm, Friday, June 21, 2024 at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Amarillo, Texas. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 5-7pm, Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel.
Jim was born on June 4th, 1965, in Huron, South Dakota, to Dean and Phyllis Loeffelbein . He later moved to Olathe, Kansas where he graduated from Olathe South High School in 1983. He furthered his education by attending Emporia State University, graduating with his BBA in Finance. In his early years, he worked for various financial investment companies, being awarded “Rookie of the Year” with BMA Financial Services. He later went out on his own, becoming a driven entrepreneur with unending motivation and determination. He received an honor in recognition for his “leadership in startup business” in Kansas by the State of Kansas House of Representatives. A few of the companies he was involved in creating were Enerjex, Petrol Oil & Gas, Enutroff, J&J Operating, among others.
As a young boy growing up in South Dakota, he was taught by his father to hunt and fish. Those were hobbies he loved and carried on throughout his life and passed them on to his children. Another hobby was to garden, Jim loved to grow vegetables and sell them at the local farmers market. But above all else, he loved and cherished all of his family and spent as much time as possible with them.
Jim always had a big smile on his face and loved to share his joy. He was one that lived life to fullest and loved hard. Those that knew him, know that he had the gift to talk your ear off. Jim enjoyed attending church each week and classes in order to help improve himself.
