He was born January 15, 1945 in Oakridge Tennessee. His adoptive parents were Daniel Edward Nelson and Edna Idonia Hanson Nelson.
He was in the Army during the Vietnam era. He went on to be a “Jack of All Trades”. This included telephone lineman, carpenter, delivery man, short order cook, security guard, policeman, bus driver and maintenance man for the Perryton Schools.
He loved to fish and go to the local coffee shop for his morning coffee. There he met many people who would become longtime friends.
He was a member of the Beacon Baptist Church in Amarillo. He was a Deacon and a Sunday School Teacher, which he loved to do.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Bobby Parrott, Brian Loveday, and Freddy Loveday, his sisters, Frances Loveday, Brenda Loveday, and Vickie Nelson Main, and a daughter, Frances Nelson Hamby.
He is survived by his wife Frances Kay Krizan Nelson of 57 years two sons, Jack Nelson Jr and Daniel Nelson both of Booker, Texas, a daughter, Lila Nelson Flores and husband Ben of Perryton, Texas. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Sheana Snow and Husband Will of Amarillo, Texas and Bo Flores of Dodge City, Kansas. He also is survived by three great grandkids, Lily, Caleb, and Kathrin and several cousins from Georgia and Tennessee.
