Helen Louise Hawkins

Helen Louise Hawkins of Amarillo, passed away March 16, 2020. She was born in Wamego, Kansas. She married Ronald Lee Hawkins on May 23, 1954. Together they had three children. She graduated with her RN degree in 1953 and worked at St. Anthony’s Hospital for many years she loved mentoring new nurses. Her family was very important to her. She enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing and traveling to new places. She always had a smile on her face and had a helping spirit. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Claude, TX. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in her honor to the Amarillo ASPCA or the Alzheimer's Association.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Jedidja Grieshaber; her husband Ronald Lee Hawkins and a grandson Jarrod Lee Crow.

She is survived by her children; Ronda L. Crow and spouse James of Amarillo; John A. Hawkins and spouse Karla of Bloomfield, NM and Jo Lynn Watson of Amarillo. Sisters Bertha Fink and spouse Rodney and Carol Grieshaber. Her grandchildren Joshua Crow and spouse Samantha of Spring TX; Justin Watson of Amarillo TX; and Jaden Watson of Amarillo; Lindsey Borgeson and spouse Kris of Minot, ND; and Joshua Williams and spouse Stacey of Farmington NM. Great grandchildren Rylee and Brooklynne Crow of Spring, Texas; Nathan, Kaleb, Abigail Williams of Farmington, NM; and Lawson, Grayson and Pierceson Borgeson of Minot ND.
