Don went to go be with his Lord and Savior on December 18, 2014. He was born on September 15, 1935 to Clarence and Clara Nelson in Dodge City, Ks. and was raised in Oklahoma. He graduated from Vinson High School in Vinson, OK in 1953. That same year he married the love of his life Peggy Keesee and they moved to Amarillo where he started his paint career of 61 years. For the last 40 years, Don and his son Rick were not only partners but also best friends. Don continued working up until the last few months. Don was a member of The United Methodist Church, living with faith and love. He had the greatest since of humor, always sharing a joke with all. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Hospice Care of the Southwest for all their loving care. Don was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years.
