Colette will lie in state for visitation on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 from 5pm to 8pm in the Memorial Park Funeral Home located at 6969 E. Interstate 40. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 2pm in the funeral home’s Chapel of Memories with Pastor Jerry Davey presiding. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Colette was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on October 10, 1930 to Larry and Murial Harr. They soon moved to Texas and eventually landed in Amarillo where she was educated and would graduate from Amarillo High School. Soon after graduation, she married Jack L. Taylor of Amarillo.
Colette worked most of her life helping raise their family of four boys. She spent several years at Sears and several more years as a station manager with the Exxon Corporation.
Colette loved working with arts and crafts, stained glass, sewing, oil painting, and wood working.
Colette was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack L. Taylor, and sisters Peggy Rose and Thelma Johnston. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Richard Taylor and wife Trish of Arlington, David Taylor of Austin, Jeff Taylor and wife Debbie, and Chris Taylor both of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
