Charles Lloyd Carver of Amarillo, TX passed peacefully in his home and moved on to his eternal home in heaven on October 18, 2021, at the age of 92 yrs. & 8 mo. Charles was born to Forrest & Vivian Carver on February 3, 1929.
Charles married his high school friend and love of his life, Minnie Mozzell, on December 19, 1947, shortly after returning from service in the Army at the age of 18. They soon started a family and were happily married for a total of 73 ½ yrs.
Charles enjoyed working for, and had been a faithful employee of Texaco Refinery in Amarillo for 34 yrs. He reluctantly retired due to the plant closing in 1985 and began his new adventures of early retirement. He spent time camping and fishing with his family and his friend Jay Bates throughout retirement. Once their children were grown, he and Mozzell enjoyed traveling in their RV throughout the state of Texas and nearby states as well as going to the valley in the winter months.
Charles was a man of great faith, serving as a Deacon at East Amarillo Church of Christ, then Comanche Trail Church of Christ. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor, and his loving and accepting spirit.
He is preceded in death by: His parents, a sister Oleta Rainy, 2 brothers WL Carver and Edward Carver, an infant daughter Sheila Ann, 2 sons Roy Don Carver, and Travis Carver.
Charles is survived by his wife Mozzell of the home, 3 sons David Carver and wife Debbie of Amarillo, Jerry Carver of Amarillo, Eddie Bird and wife Beverly of Allen, TX, daughter Marty Thurman of St. Louis Missouri, 17 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren.
